Antique Moroccan hammam bowl
These unusual and decorative metal bowls are antique hammam bowls which have been sourced from our recent buying trip to Morocco.
In a traditional Moroccan hammam, warm water would have been poured over a person in order to wash away black soap.
These bowls would be filled with warm water from a large bucket and be used to pour the water over a persons head and body.
The sound of the metal bowls would echo around the large hammam with its very high ceilings and add to the therapeutic experience.
Each piece is decorated with varying patterns that have been hammered in to the metal by hand using a hammer and nail.
These bowls are sold individually.
