We set up our business in 2015 shortly after our second visit to Morocco. Since setting up what is now known as Hive Stores, we (Steven & Gareth) have visited Morocco a further 5 times. Each time we make new friends, learn a little bit more Darija, remove ourselves from the touristic side and find more wonderful products to sell from our shop. 

We are proud and passionate about working directly with the talented makers in Marrakech to make sure we are paying an appropriate price to the maker. That is why we know all of our makers by name and have direct contact with them. It's these close relationships that make the earthquake emotional for us, the photos being shared on news channels are of places we sit and socialise with Moroccan locals, so it breaks our heart to witness the devastation from a distance. 

We want to extend our support to our friends as much as we can, so throughout September, we will be donating at least 25% of all online sales made from the items below to the Moroccan craftsmen we collaborate with including Omar, Hamza, Ayyub and Abdul who make our leather products; Mourad, Mustapha, Cherif and Abdullah who make our metal wares; and Kareem our supplier and maker of the lucky tamegroute talismans.

If funds cannot be donated directly to the makers, we will donate them to the Red Cross appeal.
